25 years … and the journey continues!Fiona Williams
Staff at Transland Group are in high spirits after marking the company’s 25th year in business.
Located in the Ballycoolin area of Dublin, Transland is a member of Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, and provides a diverse range of freight forwarding and haulage services for small to medium sized businesses in the Dublin and Southern Ireland area. The firm handles over 1,100 pallets every week on behalf of Palletways, covering on average 450,000 km across Southern Ireland, and employs 45 people in the UK and Ireland.
Kieran Conlon, managing director at Transland Group said:
“We have grown significantly since the company was established in 1993. Initially, we handled magazine distribution between the UK and Ireland but now we work with a range of customers across many sectors, from engineering and household goods to medical equipment and ambient foods. We launched an online booking service for our palletised freight deliveries over ten years ago and it’s still the only service of its kind within the Irish market, so that’s really helped us to continue to grow within the Palletways network.”
Barry Byers, Palletways’ network development director, added:
“Transland’s contribution to the haulage sector has had a wider impact on the industry, allowing businesses across the UK and Europe to move their goods and enable our economy to thrive and grow. Palletways is very proud to be part of the Transland success story, providing the pallet network technology and infrastructure to support their business to deliver the best possible service for their customers.”
Transland Group has been a Platinum Palletways member since 2012, which represents the company’s excellence across a wide range of criteria, including operational performance and commitment to customer service. The company has handled over 500,000 pallets for Palletways to date.
Transland now looks forward to its 50th anniversary!
